Buff Dewlap Toulouse Thread

Hi goosie friends,

Just popping in to say there is another court date (hopefully the last one) where (cross my fingers) they determine just how much he is obligated to pay me. I've been amazed, the only court date so far only produced the opposing lawyer finding another way to postpone. I don't know exactly how all this worked out, but somehow, without me ever really doing anything or being there, 11 months later Baby Girl, Lucky, and all their dead friends will maybe be given a bit of justice.

Marty, I sure hope they do something this time for the loss of all your birds!! I'll be saying a prayer for you.

Well, got a call from city prosecutor, and everything regarding the dog is done, except the city pros. limit is $500 restitution, so I have to take the notarized memorandum (or whatever its called) down and do a civil suite for the price. (sigh) Oh well, getting there slowly I guess.

How is everyone and your dear birds? My birds are doing well. The Toulouse have really filled out, it sure seems to take awhile.

At least a step has been taken towards justice. What was the actual end result from the criminal action?

Glad your birds are doing well. How many geese are you up to now? I've got 36.... of which 19 are dewlaps.

The dogs are gone now, since city/state law says violent dogs (toward people or livestock) must be put to sleep. Guy pleaded no contest, lost his dogs, and the next step is civil small claims for the value of the birds.

I have 5 sebbies (two hatched this summer, an smooth breast white and a lovely buff- ironically it was a sebbie egg swap, and they got a spotted white). I have 5 Africans (2 babies left w/us), and the trio of buff dewlaps. The dewlaps were not fertile this year, but the others were. I'm pretty sure we're gong to get it down to just the Africans and buff dewlaps.

In fact, my place has been sold (set for spring, actually, after both our kids are out of school - I'm holding contract) and we're going to be looking into a place in the country.

Marty glad to hear they dog were taken care of after what they did to your birds.
So now you have to take and go through court and sue the owner of the dogs for he damage they did. Hopefully that will take a shorter amount of time.
