Yes, We had a RIR... she was very sweet, and laid lots of eggs though. Sadly she died a month or two ago, from possibly cancer.

When you say she's not pretty, what are you mentioning about her specifically? Genuinely curious.

She just has this scrappy look to her. I cannot really describe it. The Australorps have a delicate head and face, the EE's are cute with their beards and muffs, the Isa browns look like little raptors and poor Orpy just looks like a mean lil scrapper like I said though, she is a great mum! Just went broody again 2 days ago and I just purchased a dozen eggs to set under her!

Said as I run off to clean the entire house so hubs doesn't really notice all the eggs under her

Yep, I have heard how lovely there personalities are, but I just don't want high production breeds due to the increased risk of reproductive disorders.

We didn’t know too much about chickens... mostly just heard that they were recommended for beginners. Now I know to research a lot before getting a new breed!
