*Buff Orpington Thread!*

The 3 new ones are 1 1/2 years old, but have NEVER been wormed. Thought I should start with Wazine first, from what I've read, to prevent them from getting blocked up with dead parasites. My others are 6 months old. Should I change my plan?

Valbazen is safe to use the first time it kills the worms slowly so you won't have a over load and it kills all worms, I wouldn't bother with the Wazine.

I already gave them the Wazine this morning. I don't have anything else yet, & I figure they REALLY needed to be wormed, since their previous owners had never done it. But thank you! Now just gotta decide whether to purchase SafeGuard or valbazen? Decisions decisions!! Lol

You will need BOTH Valbazan ans Safeguard. You need to alternate these two wormers, so that the parasites do not build up immunity. I give Safeguard at 1/4 cc for birds 8 weeks old, then 1/2 cc at 10 weeks, and 12 weeks.I have BIG Orps, so I give 1 cc to my mature birds, over 6 months old.You can get Safeguard at TSC. Valbazan is available over the internet.

Then and now (the pic was took the other day so thats why theres still blood!)

I don't!! These were Bella's mothers chicks from this year, I just posted them to show the before and after in the pics. I wouldn't want Bella's mother to hatch out this early. Last year she hatched out early and went broody another 3 times which was a pain because she had already had chicks and Daisy had some and hers filled up the last spot. She will hopefully go broody in June time like she did in 2012 and then she can have some babies!
