Oh dear lord!! Is that a normal sized bird?? I mean he's beautiful and all but goodness what a Godzilla. A family friend has a farm where she free range raises BO's and we are going to buy 5 or 10 from here with a rooster for protection. If the Roos are that big I think the local predators will be the ones needing the protection.

And I just realized how old that post was.... oops.

yeah im thinking also the one to the left in back by the fence COULD be one. Depends how old they are but could be a hen getting ready to lay...red comb,
Her comb doesnt look as big even close to any of my orp roos.
All mine eve n young like 6 weeks are very pointed with pointy teeth on them, and slightly pink .Grown about 2 inches tall maybe more . My hens have about a 1 inch tall red comb when grown

I had one roo ws a slow starter His comb didnt get bigger until after they were grown.
He had a longer neck than the hens though.Later he looked like a regular orp roo!

I will go back out this evening, mercy it's hot!!! They turned 24 weeks yesterday. :D thank you very much for all the replies, they are enjoying a bowl of frozen strawberries in water for a treat in the heat right now. I got two flats of strawberries and alot were going south, so I threw them in a big bowl, filled with water and froze it. They LOVE it. :D
