Buff Orpingtons???

Emily is 21 weeks now and still not squatting for me. The pictures were taken I think about two weeks ago. I think all of my RIR the same age as Emily are now laying, but neither of the EE's the same age are. I have two girls from my next batch, three weeks younger who are just starting to lay.

Looks like a 'barf uppington' to me. But ours are a year old now, so my memory is not brand new.

They are gentle, unexcitable birds compared to our barred-rocks and EE. And they lay nice light brown eggs.

My grandmother's spoonerized version of Buff orpingtons is 'barf uppington'. Seems to be one of the few NOT Proper things she ever allowed herself. Unfortunately, it stuck, in our family.

Ok...I have to show off a little...here are my girls..they are 20 weeks...some are laying..some aren't.....Zenbirder...I have an Emily too!!! She s laying.....just started 2 days ago!!

I love my girls!! They are just a sweet as they could be!! Very nice, docile breed!! They have layed some pretty little egs....of course they are little because they just started this week!! They are newbies!! I couldn't believe how pretty the eggs were..
