Don't feel to bad I started with 48 eggs 1/2 clear and the other was 9 buffs and 3 blues and 3 partridge so 15 out of 48

But I am happy with the 15 I got to hatch

Sometimes I will get chicks with lighter skin. They normally darken up with a couple weeks.

Okay, looked through the new SOP this weekend. Page 35 is not a comprehensive list of breeds that have buff. Look at the standard for silkies (didn't check the page number, but it is towards the back of the book), and for buff plumage, they specifically refer you to the definition on page 35. If you look at other varieties, they also do not give complete breed lists.
