We have 5 Broad Breasted Bronze poults out in the coop.Just get turkey's for goodness sake
If you don't have the space for turkey's then how are you going to keep 'turkey impostors'? Makes no sense
There are small turkeys, like royal palms, that are the size you are trying to achieve (10-15 lbs). A 10-15 lb chicken obviously takes up the same space.I don't have the space for turkeys, & I don't know much about breeding turkeys.
You said your mom doesn't like the taste of turkeys. If you are breeding broad breasted turkeys, no wonder she does not like the taste! Seriously try heritage breeds. We have 5 Broad Breasted Bronze poults out in the coop.
I explained the reason. For people who don't like Turkey.
What I mean is I don't have a separate coop for Turkey.Just get turkey's for goodness sake

We raise them up to about 6-7 months, & butcher them for Thanksgiving. They're not there permanently.

I know there's Heritage Turkeys. Turkeys require more space then chickens. There are small turkeys, like royal palms, that are the size you are trying to achieve (10-15 lbs). A 10-15 lb chicken obviously takes up the same space.
Only if they are bigger. Turkeys in general scratch less, and make less mess in the space they have. But I get it, you just don't like turkeys. OK.I know there's Heritage Turkeys. Turkeys require more space then chickens.
My dad is a bigger fan of turkeys. I'm not much of Turkey person myself, but I do enjoy eating them.Only if they are bigger. Turkeys in general scratch less, and make less mess in the space they have. But I get it, you just don't like turkeys. OK.
