Building an "Old Style" henhouse.....move in day!....... (pics)

It looks great Steve! I don't know if you had linoleum in your last coop but it is amazing how easy it is to clean mine now with linoleum, it actually looks almost new when I clean it out and it
doesnt really take scraping, the poo just slides off. Mine is MUCH smaller than your coop but I ended up putting linoleum on the back wall that the roost was near so the wayward poo didnt get on the wood wall. It works great. I don't think you'll have that "wall" problem with the size of yours though!

We need a pic tomorrow with the chickens in the coop!

Looks great Steve! Hopefully the hens will "customize" it soon, that way the old nest box will fit in!

You know, the whole thing just looks too shiny and clean to put chickens into. Throw some "dirt" on the walls, that way I won't feel so bad about mine (which used to be shiny and clean)!

Is the linoleum floor self sick or did you glue it down with mastic? I've been thinking that I should put some linoleum down when I clean out next time. I've never worked with the stuff.

Just think, you could have bought a prefab shed for 2-3 times the money that would start to fall apart the week after it was delivered!

I just snuck out and snapped a pic, seems they are roosting where they are supposed to.

Quality of the pic stinks, must be low light conditons. I will snap another tomorrow.

Are you locking them in for a few days so they get used to the idea of being in there? I usually have to lock mine up for about a week and then they will always go back to the coop after being out.

Funny you mention that, I just told my wife as I came in the house tonight, to NOT let them out of the henhouse for at least a week unless it was burning down!
