Building My First Coop

Pics
@adirondak5 did you put anything under the trim boards? I want to put trim on my coop now, seeing how pretty it looks on yours, and also as added protection/barrier on top of my OSB edges, which are most susceptible to weather damage. The boards and edges will still be painted, so covering them with trim will be just an extra precaution (with the bonus of looking nice). However, my husband objects and says trim only traps moisture underneath itself and is generally not a good idea... Is that true? Do I need to put anything underneath it to prevent that? Neither of us is a pro at this or even very experienced...

I would trim the edges for protection whether you caulk it or not , a well ventilated structure like a barn or a chicken coop is not going to hold a lot of moisture or should not hold a lot of moisture . Trim on corners , windows , fascia , edges , serves a purpose other than just looking good , its protection from the weather . I did caulk around the window trim .
