Building My First Coop

Pics
Do you have any flashing on the roof? I'm trying to figure out if I need it... I'll have fascia boards all around.

No flashing . I have no decking under the metal roof panels , the roof panels also over hang fascia about 1 1/4 " . I didn't see any benefit to adding flashing or drip edge .

When does one need a drip edge? When there’s a board under the roofing panels? I’m still thinking about that OSB of mine and its edges... and feeling like maybe I should give them drip edge flashing...?

Update your build thread with pics of the roof edging and we can go look at it.
I haven’t put the roof up yet, I’m still trying to decide on how to go about it and looking at other people’s builds and youtube videos to get ideas... Once I start putting the roof up, I want to finish it all in one go, because it’s been raining a lot, and I don’t want it sitting there uncovered getting wet. So by the time I start, I need to have decided on how I’m gonna do it...

You need to see how your metal roof is going to lay out with your fascia , if you think water is going to flow around the edges and get back to top of fascia (or top edge of siding) where it can get behind it , a drip edge would be advisable . On a slant roof that could possible happen happen on the high side (a good over hang would usually prevent it). I wouldn't worry about it unless you think water will get over the top of the fascia . I've done a few metal roofs and water generally doesn't flow around the edge to the bottom side , it usually drips off at the edge just like a drip edge would cause it to do .

I noticed that, good move!
Think it would be hard to put a functional drip edge on those panels anyway.

Thanks aart .
I could have installed a drip edge on the fascia but I don't think any water is going to run back with the pitch I have and the 1 1/4" overhang , its approx 6 - 12 pitch .

Thanks for the input. I was thinking I might need it because mine is a lean to, so maybe at the top? You only have downward edges where the water only flows down in one direction...

But anyway, I need to rethink everything because Lowe’s just called and they don’t actually have that other metal panel in stock either, even though the website says “40 in stock” and the order went through yesterday... They said no other stores nearby have it either and they can’t ship from out of state :barnie Why is it so damn hard to find metal roofing around here!?!?
