. After the hardware cloth and predator barrier is done there are just odds and ends , roosts , poop boards , ramp into coop , gable vents , quick easy stuff . My daughter says the birds are suppose to ship the week of Oct 14 . That far side was a struggle but its done . Just the door end of the run left to do and thats only 6' wide so it shouldn't be too bad . I'll have just enough hardware cloth to finish this up , used a 50' roll of 24" and a 50' roll of 48" .Sounds like a lot of work. Why not an apron instead?
What mesh spacing?Yes , it is a lot of work . I am putting down a 24" apron of 14 gauge galv. welded wire . The hardware cloth going straight down 1' is just a secondary measure , will keep the chickens from digging out , and keep vermin out that may get past the apron .
