Well we have the foundation laid. We are not putting in a traditional floor. We have sandy ground and it drains well. After we laid the fencing down, we added gravel; then sand, then a nice layer of garden soil. On top of that , after the coop is finished we will add shavings. This photo is showing the soil going over the sand and gravel.

This is the inside of a friends coop. He gets shavings from a guy that uses them in his horse stall. My friend just spreads the horse manure/shavings in the coop, rakes in the chicken droppings from under the roost and that's it.

We are going to make the windows. No glass, hinged with mesh wire screening. Kinda like a chicken door but a window.
