building paradise for the birds

Pics
well got the last board cut and now going to screw it in and the next wall of wire is cut and putting that up in a bit...

off to this lovely cold zero degree temp

You got this Birdman. Being born in Michigan, it is kinda like being born with anti-freeze in your veins. Besides, after a while your hands will go numb so you won't feel it anyway! HA HA!

I was actually born in Illinois...moved to Wisconsin when I was seven and moved to Michigan four years ago...but yeah im born with the cold trait...I don't mind it...and yes when your fingers go numb you forget about it and it stops hurting...lol

be back in a flash....and the water is working now...finally after seven hours of the 2500 watt heater being in there....it was the main two lines that froze....now everything is back to good....thank goodness

there it is people...yes....and some of the people thought that what I charge for a dozen was to much so they were gunna go back to going to walmart for their eggs...I said ok go back and get your sloppy not fresh organic eggs then....and then this came out....lol....I think im going to increase my price again when the stores increase...

The last statement just made me laugh.. and almost cry, how cold hearted, and disconnected. That's what got me started raising chickens again too

Ken Klippen of the National Association of Egg Farmers said California's egg law, in addition to driving up the cost at the grocery store and putting pressure on egg supplies, will result in more injuries to chickens because housing them in larger pens means they are more likely to run, breaking a leg or wing.
"You're not going to help the chicken," he said. "You're not helping consumers."
Consumers will be the ones suffering most, of course since now that dozen eggs just got really expensive! I will keep my prices down, but equal to the nasty store eggs for sure. I have free range chickens, some are 24/7. We eat the excess roosters, and I sell a lot of excess eggs too. I have so many eggs during the summer, I even donate to the food bank, offer some for school "hatching" programs. Healthy happy birds produce healthier eggs. Those poor animals, never being able to run or flap a wing! Yes we eat some of our birds. They have had a full happy life before they have that 1 bad day. Thats the #1 reason I raise my own food, I want to know that animal was treated with respect. OK off my soapbox

@birdman55 just wanted to say your thread has been highly motivational. I have a lot of projects lined up myself and following your thread has given me the inspiration to share my own progress with the BYC community.
Thank you.and keep up the great work.
