Thanks again for your reply/advice.
Now a stupid question.....at what age are goslings considered to be mature geese? Does it vary between the different breeds?

Geese are generally considered mature at around 10-12 months old. Though some breeds do mature faster than others. Especially the commercial hatchery breeds. The are bread to be fast maturing, quicker to lay, and faster growing than the older slow growing bloodlines.

Many thanks for the replies, the more we observe these geese the more we think we have 2 ganders hence the issue even at this young age.
