I don't get too aggressive when they look like this and there is no lameness. At this stage I'll just dab Durasole on it and observe. If there is swelling and lameness I will soak in epsom salt and apply a drawing salve, wrap it and check/change daily. I try to avoid cutting open as much as possible. If you do have to cut out it is recommended to use an antibiotic.

I am new to chickens but seem to have around 15 with bumblefoot. Could you please tell me What is durasole and where can I get it?

Durasole is a horse hoof treatment that contains formalin and other ingredients. I used this when I had an entire flock come down with it due to constant rain. Wear gloves as it will stain skin and clothes. This is OFF LABEL use and I can't tell you how long egg withdrawal is . I order it from Jeffers Vet supply or Valley Vet. Dab a few drops on infected area once a day for seven days then reevaluate. Worked great on my flock. Please understand this is a product designed to treat thrush in horse's hooves.
