Bumblefoot gone bad

I would use the sugardine and wrap. It will draw out the infection, and it needs to stay moist rather than dry out. I cleaned the foot and flushed as needed with each bandage change, then repacked the wound with sugardine and rewrapped. It made less and less pus each day, until it started to remain clear. Healing takes time, but in my case it was much faster with the sugardine than with any previous treatments I did. It will also help it to heal from the inside out and prevent pockets of infection from being caught inside. My roo was going to be culled if he didn't improve, it was very bad. And he is still with me, with no recurrence so far, almost a year after treating this way and completely healing. I check him regularly.

Picture update-Day 3
*These were taking post-epsom soak which is why it looks so wet. I used a squirt bottle to really get down inside the wound. The smell is WAAAAYYYY less prominent and there was no pus or drainage that I could squeeze out. Sugar pack was reapplied and she is rewrapped.

It's only on one foot right?

The smell being better is definitely good! You may need to do some gentle debriding of necrotic tissue (looks dead) and continue to remove any pus that accumulates, gently, try not to damage any healthy tissue. I had to continue to do that for a week to a week and a half or so, If in doubt, just pack it again and reassess the next day. After a couple of weeks the pus was not accumulating any more in my roo's foot, then it was a quick flush, clean up any dirt that made it's way under bandaging, repack and done. This may be a long term project, months. But as long as she's eating and drinking and pooping normally, and it continues to improve, I think she has a chance to recover.

Just finished the routine and when I rinsed the inside of the wound with the squirt bottle, some small pieces of dead tissue washed out. Is that a good sign? I used a q-tip to clean inside of it and the q-tip was pretty clean for the most part. No pus or drainage. She is also putting some weight on the foot today instead of keeping it tucked up to her body.

You might have to cut some of dead tissue at some point but it's good that its falling off.
