maybe even use a piece of vet wrap to cover her eyes, maybe it'll help calm her

Do you have a helper? It's easiest if you can have someone else hold her so you can have both hands free. I had one of my boys or my husband hold her all wrapped up in a towel with just her feet out. Made my job a little easier. It's possible to hold her yourself, but sounds like she is a squirmy little stinker!
