Bumblefoot question

I checked out your link and what you experienced...glad yours is doing better :) I pulled off the scab the other night but wasn't able to remove much with the tweezers...I couldn't take the thought of hurting her more so I gave in to my husbands concern for her and I stopped...lost my nerve

If one of the bumbles on the bottom of her foot has closed does that mean that that one is beginning to heal inside??

Went out yesterday to get the clear iodine and applied it after her epsom salt bath. I tried a couple of days ago to peel off the scab but couldn't get much out using the tweezers...I tried to dig into the hard stuff but didn't get much but some blood coming out...I was challenged with wondering how much pain I was causing her and if I was making things worse...I think I would make for a better assistant than the one treating her

Just keep up with treatments. I wouldn't go digging inside too much. If the wound is closing and there isn't swelling or redness then it's probably okay. If it's still swollen and red then you should keep up with the soaks and iodine treatments.

If the scab does not peel off easily, just leave it, apply a couple more drops of clear iodine, wait a few more days, try again.

Hugs.

Today is one week she has been on her antibiotic...I decided to post pictures I took last night so you can compare them to the ones I posted a week or so ago. The one sore that has closed is not red but it is still swollen a bit as you can see. I will be glad to not dig around too much like you suggest. I will continue the treatments and definitely keep applying iodine after her foot soak. Let me know what you think from the new pictures and the compare them to the first set please...thanks again Miss Lydia and Amiga

I'd say so too for it to still be that swollen. The hole makes me think she may have stepped on something and that could actually still be in there? Is that an actual scab? or just a hole? I enlarged it and still can't tell.

I know you don't want too... but you may have to cut a little tiny place for stuff to come out of there! I know that's the last thing you want too do, especially if you don't have too... but for her to be that swollen after this long & on antibiotics- there's definitely a core in there holding that puss in there. Or like Miss Lydia said whatever she stepped on is still in her pad.

The smaller spot on her left foot is a scabbed area that is closing up...the other picture of the larger black spot on her right foot is a scab. We have a vet. apt. this Tues. so we'll see what the doctor thinks. After that I have a friend who is a nurse and may be willing to help me out with the procedure if needed. I'll keep ya posted

Continued prayers appreciated!! Thanks ya'll
