Bumblefoot question

The smaller spot on her left foot is a scabbed area that is closing up...the other picture of the larger black spot on her right foot is a scab. We have a vet. apt. this Tues. so we'll see what the doctor thinks. After that I have a friend who is a nurse and may be willing to help me out with the procedure if needed. Well we went back to vet. this past Tuesday for Vicki's follow-up visit. There was a slight difference than before...the scab was smaller than it was last time on her one foot. He suggested 3 options: one was to amputate the toe on each foot, 2 was to continue antibiotics for 4 more weeks or 3 was to do nothing. We opted for the continuation of the antibiotics and I will continue the foot bath at night and applying the clear iodine. He also said that she is susceptible to bumble foot She is still her normal self and we are praying that healing will occur over time...we would greatly appreciate your continued prayers for Vicki...thanks all!!!

Be sure to give her a probiotic while she is on this antibiotic they kill good bacteria and bad

Did he give you a reason why she would be susceptible to bumble or was he just meaning ducks in general?

He did not give me a reason why she is susceptible...maybe our baby girl is just a tender foot lol

. Also what is a probiotic and where would I get that and how does it interact with the antibiotic? Thanks again!!

If you type in is it safe to take a probiotic while taking a antibiotic you'll see it a good idea to do it. But as for what probiotic some feed stores probably have them maybe TSC or just get a human one. Main thing is getting that beneficial bacteria in her gut.

Thanks we will get some tomorrow...the sore on her foot is getting smaller but the swelling is pretty much the same. Praying for a miracle...Happy Easter!! Celebrating His resurrection tomorrow!!!!!
