Salt is sodium chloride. Epsom salts is magnesium sulfate, an entirely different substance. No, you may not substitute sea salt for it. For one thing, magnsesium sulfate can be used internally for a number of issues, sour crop, a flush for obstruction, etc. It's also something everyone should have in a first aid kit.

Germolene will work okay.
