Bumblefoot?

Update!

I guess this is a good thing, today while doing her foot I noticed the plug scab is starting to go up like the big kernel thingy, I have been putting Prid on in so maybe that is why? Tonight I did both feet. Still a happy bird although! No signs of pain wich is good! Still looking at the vet with big eyes hoping not to go but at the same time wanting to.

Make a vet appt for next week just in case you'll need the appt by then. It's hard to get in to see a vet so an advance appt will save you time. If you discover the hen is doing ok you can cancel the appt the day before the appt & explain the hen is doing better.

My vet is so busy it takes 3 to 4 days before they can see my hens. They've known me for many yrs so if it's a real emergency they'll squeeze me in same day.

Thank you! Will do! Does it look better although? Maybe im just telling myself things to get me to feel better about this situation.

Update!

No I did not place a vet appointment, but I will do it tomorrow hopefully, she has been doing good her foot seems to be staying the same appart for the fact that it seems to be comming up a little. Her wound looks like a egg if you put to much paprika and burnt it... 🤭 She was very relaxed in the morning and almost fell asleep. She also became so friendly! ❤️ How long is it going to take to form the bubble? Its making my non patient self wait. Ughhhh!

So update...

Make ups foot looks to be getting better, starting to peal off, and no blood when I massage.
So, it got me thinking... How many of my chickens have bumblefoot? So im checking, I find Peaches has one on her toe and is really uncomfortable, looking at it.
Snooze has one on her palm, peeling off.
And Beaky has two medium-sized ones on both pads...
CHICKENS!!!

Im working to resolve this problem littrly looking everywhere they go for something that might scratch them, I have two spots. I guess RIRs are more sturdy light breeds because there feet are beautifully clean.

Forgot to add, Chocolate might be a fifth I have to look.

So anyways, before everything could get out of hand, I started... Soak, clean, Prid, wrap... Repeat... Now my chickens look funky, and one (Beaky) has THE smallest feet, so I had to cut her's extra extra small.

So I guess my question is... Is this contagious amongst the hens? I noticed that my hens that have bumble sleep next to eachother so is it possible is getting on the roost and then there stepping on that spot? Or is it just a problem as a whole?

Thank you!
