So my lavender hen who is 2 months has a bump at the base of her tail feathers. Its as round as a dime and she doesn't like me touching it. There are know soars around it or wounds. What could it be, and how should i treat it?

Quote:Its hard to get pics of it since she is not very people friendly. Im working with her on that and she is getting alot better but it will be hard to get a pic of it. It has feathers coming out of it. The bump is kinda hard, but at the same time a little squishy. It doesn't have an off color or anything.

It sounds as if it might be an irritated oil gland.
