Butchering quail today!

We used to butcher chicken hens way back when. We would harvest the egg yolks and hard boil them before eating them.

Can quail go in the same run as meat chickens or will they fly off? I'm new to the whole quail raising and processing.

Quail are very flighty, they have special housing requirements. They either need a big tall aviary or cages with a certain height ceiling, because they can fly up and break their necks on the roof.

Not this year, I'm just too dang busy and tired. And nowhere to put them yet either lol. I gotta work out my chicken issues first anyway, got a mystery going on and that's taking all my mental energy.
