Butchering quail today!

:thumbsup I knew why quails are raised (eating) but now realize the culling is alot "easier" than with a chicken. I've read where loppers or really sharp scissors are used but I would think it would end up a two person task?
The hardest part of raising food sources
They are so small you can hold them in one hand and cut with the other.

I've found it easy to hold the quail in one hand and use the scissors in the other. I could see where someone with small hands would have a handful. The cone to hold while you position the head or a helper works. Sharp scissors are required.

Clothes pins on the legs holds them upside down for bleeding. Edge of a bucket full of absorbent or on the fence.

Yes, making meat is a mental hurdle that must be crossed.

I am surprised that you don't use the pull the head off method. Place quail neck between first two fingers of dominant hand. Quail's neck should between first two fingers located just behind the quail's head. Holding hand as still as possible, make a rapid circular motion causing the quail's body to spin in a circle. You should be able to feel the neck separate from the head. Quickly lower hand and finish with a hard upward jerk. If done properly the head will pop right off.
