Does anyone know what is wrong with him (yes him) he was born that way and was an emergency assist hatch (he nearly took 48 hours before I gave in) he is still in the incubator and is a day old. He walks fine and stumbles a bit. The smell I'm the incubator makes me nauseus and now m my clothes sink and my hair stinks and I'm not sure id its another egg or him. Another chick is responding to him. I've been in the chicken business for five years since i was 8 and I've never heard of anything like this

I am thinking the same as Sumi that could be an unabsorbed egg sac. IN that case leave it alone and maybe isolate the chick or others won't peck at it. It should be absorbed in a day or two, That nourishes the chick - if you try to remove it, it will end up bleeding.

I just had seven chicks hatch( first time incubating eggs) and one chick has the same thing. Looks like a butt tumor? I have it isolated because the other chicks will peck and pull at it. :(

Any help would be appreciated. Seems perky, fine and drinks, but not sure what to do about this if anything.
