Button Quail Chat

I have successfully bonded Sweetpea with her big brother Bean in the partitioned cage and moved them together without a barrier.. They are affectionate and attached to each other.

The two male siblings together are starting to fight. Cricket periodically chases Popcorn fiercely around. Anybody have a male pair? Will they settle down after puberty since they are all they have? They can hear but not see the other four quail. But hearing their dad crow seems to trigger Cricket's aggression.

And their habitat.
Love the habitat- may copy it. I got some button quail eggs on ebay and hatched ou 17. Most were male and I gave them away. I did keep three pair- I put them in 20 gal long aquariums. A friend made a habitat for one pair. I eventually gave away Sam, Rose, Elmer and Skeeter. The males were so aggressive, mating looked like rape. The poor girls had the feathers all gone from their heads. Fern and Ivy lived in blissful companionship until last August- found Fern dead- don't know what did it- old age? Boinking up too hard and breaking neck? She was 2 1/2. May get some more later - I love the little things.
