Button quail chicks violently dying

I read the nutrition information on that, and while it may be good for chicken chicks, it's not the proper nutrition for quail, button or otherwise. I'm leaning toward the feed as your problem. They should be getting game bird feed or turkey starter.

This one looks good for your adults. Your chicks need something similar with more protein. Around 28% is ideal.

High protein is fine if just raising to market or butcher. Long term high protein will cause digestive problems, a feed ration of 24% is adequate for chicks and adults.

Thank you all so much. The reason I’ve been feeding them this way for the past few years is because they lady I got them from raises hundreds and that’s how she feeds them and she’s never lost a chick. I sometimes feel like it’s just me!

Will your local feed store order game bird crumble or turkey starter for you? I use a local brand, but I know Mazuri makes one. They're a bit expensive, though.

Hi all! I’ve started feeding them Manna Pro Game Bird/Show Bird Feed today (was just finally able to get it) and haven’t lost any other babies thus far.

I’m also thinking it could be a genetics issue. I’ve been searching for someone to trade these babies and some adult males with in order to diversify my flock but I’m not finding anyone in my area of Hampton Roads, Virginia
