How old is she and what exactly do you feed her? When I went to feed my button quail a few minutes ago one of my young hens wasn't doing good.
She's puffed up and wobbling, can hardly stand. I got her to drink some water. She has never laid an egg, so I don't know if she would be egg bound? I'll try to get pictures as soon as I can. Please help.
Yes, it has vitamins, so it should help. Go ahead, & make some up?
She was hatched September 12… I can t think right nowHow old is she and what exactly do you feed her?
Can you get a clear short video of how she's acting and upload it to YouTube now?
I could try getting her to. She could have I think her pen is 1 fit high? I don’t know I haven’t seen her pop todayIs she alert enough to take in drops of fluid?
Could she have bonked her head?
I don't know much about Quail, but the laying on the side and wobbly doesn't sound too good.
If electrolytes is what you have I would go with those first, working on getting a drop of fluid into her at a time.
How old is she? Is she pooping? What's that like?
thank you. should i do it with the electrolites to?Your bird is dying. We can't tell you why. Only a lab necropsy can do that. But on the chance thishas something to do with nutrient imbalance, try giving her sugar water with an oral syringe. You will need to pry open the beak and slide the syringe along the right (hers, not yours) side of her throat into the crop to avoid choking her airway.
This can revive a bird that is slipping away from weakness, but if this is infection, she's too far gone to help.
