The Button Quail I hatched in October are laying eggs.

It is to cold to mail the eggs at this time and I do not want to hatch anymore yet...

Any suggestions on what to do with the eggs?

Make itty bitty omelettes just for fun?

I tried using them for pickled eggs and they were impossible to peel. This worked really good though - soak the eggs in white vinegar, then you can peel them right off. Regular quail eggs took about 12 hours or less; I put them in the fridge overnight.

Otherwise, if you have a dog, they make great treats.

I either soak mine in vinegar or dunk 'em in icewater and roll the shell around the counter. The vinegar trick works but it reeks up my fridge

I had over 100 eggs in the fridge (some buttons but mostly jumbo coturnix) so this past weekend I got creative. I boiled half of them in water, then soaked in vinegar and was amazed and how well this worked. The other half, I just boiled in water with salt and vinegar. I chilled them in ice water and still had a hard time peeling them. Couldn't save even one button egg - all went to the dogs (who LOVED them!) So from now on, I'm doing the vinegar soak thing. Oh - and I was pickling them so it didn't matter.

Thanks for the suggestions guys,..
Right now I have 2 Button Hens laying I think I may restrict their light to try to make them stop laying till spring when I am ready for them to lay,..

At least in spring I could mail the eggs to someone here who wants to hatch them.

some baking soda in the water during boiling will make peeling any eggs muuuuchh easier
