Button Quail Lockdown (no pipping)?

She'll be fine on her own for awhile (CONGRATULATIONS!) but she will yell. They are needy little things but the others should hear her yelling and hopefully that will give them a hurry up. They are incredibly active and vocal babies, made to hatch and go.

They really push up into/under their parents wings rather than just huddling under them. They almost stand on tippy toes, so they really like to push up into folds of cloth, which will be why swaddling works. They are so unbelievably tiny, aren't they?

I've read that on other threads and will keep it in mind. I hope her siblings stary popping out today or tomorrow so she won't be lonely. Would playing a video of chicks chirping make her calmer? Or would she get louder and more antsy?

And yes! She is like a miniature angel. She's the size of my thumb. We already love her. I'll probably add more blankets when I leave.

A little mirror might help if you have one as she wants to be able to see someone so she doesn't feel alone. Hearing other chicks but not being able to find them would make her more unhappy.

I gave an early bird a mirror and when it finally did have brothers and sisters I tried to take the mirror away. You should've heard the complaining from all of them!

I'll see if I have one from my old parakeet. If not, I'll just try to give her a little cave of blankets to rest in til I'm home.
Thank you all for the help! I'll be posting more about her and the other eggs as they eventually hatch. I'm really paranoid because we opened the incubator for the chick- but I have high hopes.

A brief drop shouldn't cause any problems. But it's impossible not to worry, I know.

Alright, thank you!! It helps to be reassured, even a little.
Here's some pics of our chick! I don't know anything about button quail colors but I googled it and we think she's a golden pearl, or a normal color.

So cute! You have mutations over there that I don't have in my country so I'm not that useful on that front.

Doubt this is anything to worry about, but the other eggs haven't seemed to budge yet. Since she hatched at night, would some of the eggs hatch tonight? When should I start really worrying about whether or not these guys will hatch?

I'm just afraid of her being by herself for an extended period of time. I apologize for any silly questions. akfhsoncks.

There are no silly questions here. If she was in a warmer spot in the incubator then that would make her a bit early, or she's early just 'because' . The majority should hatch as a group. Don't start worrying yet (difficult as that is). Hopefully a few will hatch overnight but you may have to put up with sad peeping until your first baby has a friend. They are very needy and even as adults they don't cope well with being alone.

It's almost 6 a.m now and still nothing. She made it through the night and I'm so happy to see her zooming around. I put a little stuffed animal inside before we fell asleep and she loves it!!
