That seems fairly clear, and especially since Obama "and his minions and allies" had NOTHING to do with this. And not for nothing, is the term "minions" really a neutral-flavored term?
I just find it odd that we weren't allowed to even mention the inauguration, but these kinds of posts (which aren't even accurate) are permitted. It seems...odd, is all.

I hope all you people with the carry permits are truly responsible people. I know you have to take a couple classes and have a background check. Hopefully there is no latent mental illness lurking in your brain. Hopefully you don't take your gun to the local bar with you. Police go through a lot of training on issues like judgment. To me carrying a concealed weapon is a real liability issue for yourself. You could be a hero or more likely end up a zero after the lawyers get though with you. I can't think of too many circumstances where you would need self protection from a gun unless you go looking for trouble like Charles Bronson.
Good luck and be careful. Civilians don't get away with unjustified shootings.

My MIL, both SIL's and most of my friends carry guns - and my DH is about to get his concealed weapons permit. I guarentee you none of them are going to go "commando" on someone
nor do they have mental "issues" lurking in the background. And - everyone I know carries theirs with them everwhere - some even carry TWO
in holsters on different parts of their body - and yes...into the grocery store, bars, movie theaters, banks, church... etc.

Beak - thats a really harsh thing to say. There are millions of reasons to carry a concealed weapon - and "Charles Bronson-esk" type behavior isnt one of them - thats not why people choose to carry. Mental illness has no bearing on carrying a concealed weapon either - "lurking" or otherwise.

He only modified his position after he decided to run for president. No where do I see the post as anti Obama. He did not state that he wanted Obama removed from office or any such thing. I saw no hatred posted only that he IS going back on his word, the fact that his appointments are all die hard anti gun including his choice for vice president. I believe the reason that the inauguration thread was shut down was due to the OP and on through the thread was based on race. Keep race out of a thread and accusations and be polite and I would imagine that threads will survive.
But for every opinion there is a opposite opinion and you would like to express yours so would others want to express theirs without being labeled a hater or a anti patriot or a anti Obama.
This is the problem with allowing politics in a forum that was not designed for it, but if one is allowed all should be allowed, not just Obama fans. There are plenty of un moderated political forums on the net. I post on one daily. It gets very heated but there are rules, no name calling, no threats, outside that anything goes. That is the way it should be for politics. As far as chickens there is no room for such, religion and politics should only be discussed in proper. When ever you mix either with any type of activity you will always have conflict.

Once again, I will leave politicians out of the topic. My opinion is based on my working experience and travel in some very different parts of the world.
MOST AMERICANS do not visit third world countries because, well, they just aren't popular places to visit. Most don't go to places in the Middle East either.
Those places differ very much from how we live and one of the main differences is the lack of basic rights we all enjoy and take for granted. Women in Africa and the ME have a much different experience than we do in the USA. NO! Not everyone lives like we do.
Ever seen someone stoned to death for adultery? How about because they were not with a male relative when someone else raped them? How about being executed for 'tempting' a man and getting raped? How about women in Africa where rape is the right of ANY male? That is why HIV is killing so many women and children there.
These people are disarmed and helpless as well as uneducated. We are very fortunate we still have the right to be armed and educated.
I have been to several countries in sub Saharan Africa four times now and personally have seen the living conditions endured by people. It's not the way I want to live nor be forced to endure.
Some of you may not want to own firearms, that's fine, please don't sell out and give away that right to the rest of us.
