I do buy eggs on ebay, with very mixed results. Some sellers consistently send eggs that always hatch. Others always have poor hatch rates. So we learn to only buy from reliable sellers which is limiting.

I MUCH prefer to buy from BYC as I think most people here are honest and enjoy their birds and want to share the joy (as well as make some money). Trouble is I never see peafowl eggs for sale on BYC.

I now know of 2 BYCers who sell on ebay. The peafowl eggs I have have got from one of the BYC Ebay sellers are consistently great and they come from the other side of the country. But I do wish there was more on offer here just to have choices. Eggs could be offered as "Buy it nows" at the going rate so there would be not the risk of getting less for them here than on ebay.

There was a guy selling peafowl and lots of other egg types on ebay for a TON of money (wood duck something). I was interested as he had advertised barheaded goose eggs which are hard to find. Luckily at $50 each these were out of my price range. Turns out he didn't have any eggs at all.

I've been watching and watching, and have watched for posts here, too- would soooooo love to have a chance to buy from a BYCer or someone local!! Need a hen for a friend's bday, as she has a lonely wailing peacock.

PM me if you know of a reliable seller or want to sell some to me!

Great thread to start, Phage! Very happy to open this discussion!
