well I need help with the guppies cuz I am geting in to guppy breeding but I dont no what to do
hu.gif
and the bettas I wonted to breed them but they look to big for my male what do you think I should do. do you think I should bye a new male betta thats biger?

Your male may be just young. I personally would just wait and raise him till he's ready. A few members and I have put together a small breeding betta thread. As for the guppies in breeding. Are you breeding for color and pattern? Are you raising the fry for credit at a LFS? Are you looking for the basics like setting up the nursery tank and raising them?

all the angels are the same size, generally in that between dime-nickle sized...

he (gold), the blue ghost and the gold marble tend to stick together on one side of the tank, and the 2 koi who are slightly larger tend to stay together on the other...
i havent seen any chasing/bullying or agressive behaviour going on and there obviously all still very young...the others all look great, hes just got that tail shut and it makes me a little worried

I think it's just the stress of settling down in a new tank. It should clear up in a few days if no other symptoms start happening.

thanks for the reassurance...
ive had bad luck with angels in the past, just very bad city water, this is the first time i have an angel tank that seems *touch wood* to be thriving...
probably just a little "fish shy" after so many years of bad luck with these beautiful fish (the water was PERFECT for african cichlids though lol)

ill keep an eye on him and if still no improvment in the next couple of days ill try doing some aquarium salt therapy

Ok so a question for all those here with a lot of aquarium experience. I hope its ok to post here.

We are thinking of putting a 5 gallon tank in our daughters room. This will be one of her Christmas presents. I've had aquariums before, and have had mixed success with them. I know about cycling them. My question is what fish or fishes would be suitable for such a small tank and which of those would be easies to keep? I am looking for some fish with very low maintinance but have good visual appeal. Thanks a bunch!

Years keeping fish: Goldfish uhhh 5 years? Lol they're easy, Betta's on and off for 3 or so years now only really now gotten serious about how they are kept as when i started i was a naive kid who believed whatever i was told

A few species you have kept: Comets, black moors, Chinese algae eater, and Betta splendins(sp?)

Favorite Species: Betta

How many tanks do you currently have: 2 in use, 2 not in use

Do you have other creatures besides fish? 2 apple snails

Any Advice for people new to fish keeping?

Read up on the species, their preffered water conditions, food.. if they are a schooling fish, aggressive or not. Read up on the nitrogen cycle and stock your tank slowly. And have Melafix, aquarium salt and tri-sulpha tablets on standby for any fish diseases as it is handy to have them

Hey Jamie not ALOT of experience here but I would think some Mollies or guppies would be nice
smile.png
or tetra's (tropicals though) Or even a Betta, the males come in lots of pretty bright colours and are full of personality though only one per tank
