oh boy The dictionary ill be burning there's a lot of words in the KJV for translating in those verses :p

Did anyone understand what I posted for Vs 1 and 2?
 
I studied the bible in a 3 year theology course. Once you start to study it and actually understand what it is saying you will realise its crazy to actually believe any of it.

There are no original texts to translate......
The oldest manuscripts we have were written down HUNDREDS of years after the last apostle died.
There are over 8,000 of these old manuscripts with no 2 alike.

When you read the bible and what the god is telling the people to do it makes you see god is acting cruel, evil and jealous.......or could it be its just made up by men to control people and use it an excuse for war and cruelty to others?

Well sorry you feel that way. and maybe gods do cause such things, but God does not. I have a different viewpoint and he has been revealed in my life, through faith, sight, touch, hearing, and miracle. And I also love how the scientific revelations can be found as well. Such as springs in the deep (Fresh water caverns under the deep ocean that bubble out as springs).. which were discovered long after ( a few thousand years) it was written in the bible I think its poetic.

I know many who have studied theology and do not come to the same conclusion.. but that is why we are all individuals... no two of us are exactly alike... even twins differ. Nor snowflakes they are so pretty.
 
That's why there are so many theological Christians who aren't Christians at all. Christianity CAN be proven by things in the world around us that verifies what the Word says,-such as the universal mixed strata explained by the universal flood - and by the Bible itself, specifically when we look at amazing Prophecy. Better yet, and best of all, from the experience people have. NO ONE dare tell me a God doesn't exist, I know Him, I've seen Him work, I've experienced Him myself, and no - I'm sane, it wasn't imaginary. You can't argue with that. I'm baffled by Atheist (not that you are one) but how could someone deny the presence of the Divine? I guess they have never experienced God, but everyone has themselves experienced, or seen/heard something that makes it perfectly CLEAR there are evil, supernatural forces in our world. You may look the other way, but they're there. If I know they are present, why can't I believe in a good, supernatural presence that countless people claim to have a relationship with, through which countless miracles have been performed, and for whom countless people have died - and who us humans wave witnessed battling the evil forces (those stories are fascinating). Why is it all so real - if it's all fake? The only reason there are questions is because the way people work, Science is God, what he says goes, to them. Well, that's not the only one, but a big one. Things have to happen before you can personally see Christianity and God, -and unfortunately, the spirit cherished by most who don't believe will keep them from seeing for themselves, versus just relying at other's experiences. BTW, those verses are serious verses, taken seriously out of context.

'Your thread', I'll follow the rules. But how do you study the Bible and discuss a text without stating your beliefs on it? What's the point? It's to hopefully learn something new from the bible and hopefully share something new from it with someone else. We all believe slightly differently, apparently we are not all going to agree, but don't call it arguing for a second. You guys weren't arguing?:)

Now, in a Bible study, there's no point in stating what you believe in, if you have no Bible-based proof. So I recommend we don't just share our thoughts, but put verses, if anything arises that calls for such an action.
