It is just one of the joys of living on a large hill of hardpan. It will run off eventually. It's already much better this morning. I can only see large puddles in the worst spot between my property and the neighbor's.So it's just trapped runoff, not a high water table?
Oh, that’s too bad. But I understand it. A couple of weeks ago, my dog jumped in the car as we were loading it to go visit our grandsons. Without thinking, I grabbed him by the hips to keep him from jumping from the cargo area into the back seat. He - for the first time ever - snarled and bared his teeth at me. The difference is, he’s old (just turned 11) and has a hip that hurts him. He also didn’t actually bite. But I do worry about him with our littlest granddaughter (1 1/2)who loves to hug him and be close to him. I told DH if Ruger ever does that to one of the kids, he’s a goner. The family is all coming this weekend to celebrate Christmas. I’m going to make sure he gets pain meds every day while the kids are here and remind the little ones to be gentle. He loves kids, but I worry how he’ll react if one accidentally gets too rough with him or falls over him or something.A friend of our had to put down his dog today. A few days ago, the dog bit him in the face. I haven't heard how badly, but I'm guessing stitches were necessary.
They've had him for 4 months, he was from a shelter, and not neutered. That was a "we're going to do that sometime in the future," but it never happened. Who knows if that would have calmed him down some? Like a cockerel, he was a randy teenager, but wrapped up in a 60 pound German Shepard mix dog.
