A couple-few months, I don't remember exactly.
I hope they aren't in pain the entire time. Cole's wattles look to be longer than Woody's were.
And I'm still surprised that his comb tips seem to be unaffected. His comb is huge. So far, the lowest we hit was -9F. When Fabio got mildly frostbite dubbed, the temp was -23F. Maybe it is age related=stronger circulation to the extremities. Fabio got nailed when he was still a cockerel and Cole won't be 1 until June. I would have expected much more severe damage to Fabio at such temps and Cole's monster comb got nothing at -9.

Morning all!

I'm sitting here having my breakfast - 2 fried eggs on toast (buttered, of course.)

And I'm wondering - I have this breakfast probably 5 days a week, every week.

Am I unusual in eating so many eggs, or is everyone 'chicken' doing the same thing?

The rest of my extended family (non chicken owners) only eat eggs once a fortnight or so.

So....how often do you eat your eggs? And even better - how do you like them cooked?

I think it's a chicken tender thing mostly. If you live on a Keto diet eggs are a staple.

I like my eggs scrambled usually. If I'm having hasbrowns then I like my eggs over medium.

I drink my coffee black. I probably drink about 1 to 2 pots daily.

Extra eggs...., I have looked into dehydrating them or freezing them for the winter, but the key words are, "looked into." I have not done this yet. They still wouldn't be fresh and you would have to scramble them, but they wouldn't be store bought. Or, I could just make sure to have six Early Spring chickens that would probably lay through the winter like my first ones did. The other babies through the years have always come later and didn't start laying until about Jan. Easier said than done with our Spring storms that can knock power out for days and I think that would be a nightmare scene trying to keep the babies warm by the fire, but I guess it has been done so maybe I should stop worrying...
-14 C here this am aka 7 F., had to look up the C, but sunny and beautiful!
Look into water glassing. This allows you to store whole eggs ling term.
