BYC Café

We did get some freezing drizzle, but the winter storm warning was way overblown. They've really down graded it now, and most of the snow will miss us.
Only got a few flakes here this afternoon.
Just looked at the radar and most that mess stayed well south of us as it moves east.
Another system may hit us tomorrow.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I put the dogs out this morning and could hear water trickling. WTH? The gutter downspout next to the deck is frozen and the water from the rain is flowing over the gutter onto the steps. There was a decent coating of ice on the cranberry viburnum. It's supposed to get to 41 today so I hope it melts off. There is nothing I can now do about the driveway. It rained over the 3 or so inches of snow that were on the ground by the time the switch to freezing rain/rain came.

The weather and it's forecast is ever evolving.
Oh, very much so. A friend of mine calls channel 8 "Panic 8."

But if they said, "we're going to get 2 inches" and we get socked with 7, everyone would be angry.

I'd rather be prepared than caught stranded. Even if it's stranded at home with no gas for the generator and no milk for coffee.

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee!
I have drifts to shovel after the overnight breezes had fun with the snow from yesterday.
My driveway is pretty slick from the sledding adventures so I guess I know where the ash bucket is going. I got a couple of hours rocking in the chair with GD (4 months old) while she took a good nap by the fire. She loved watching it! Late spring she will be able to do some easy sledding.
Enjoy the day and be safe on the ice!
Good luck with the trial today, Sour!

OMG! I cleared the upper half of my driveway. It is outrageously heavy! I'm hoping I did enough to allow the warmer temperatures to melt the rest away.

I did end up letting Fabio out last night to roost with the girls. I put him back in the ward this morning with his dosed muffin and closed him in, went out and fed the flock and cleaned the waterer, went back in to clean the coop and he had eaten his muffin so he got let out again. He's much happier as I have heard him crow over a dozen times. And he sounds pretty strong!
