BYC Café

How on earth did that happen?
I'll know tomorrow when I haul it out of there. It happened between when I went out to close off the nest boxes about 6:10 (Little wants to sleep in them:rolleyes:) and when I went out at dusk for lock up. One end of the board was on the floor, the other end was still attached.

Glad everyone was roosted and it didn't crash down on one of them.

Before I secured the ends of the branches with PVC strapping, one end of one of their big branches tore off the run wall. I guarantee it was full of chickens when it fell. But at least they could just fly down.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I had the dogs out pre-dawn but there was some light in the sky but it was not easy to see. Piper was just running around the back yard and I had to keep buzzing her to keep her from running to the woods. When I opened the door to bring them back in, I could hear the gobblers going off as they were making their way through the woods, in the dark, to come to breakfast. They are worse than the chickens!

I saw the BYC Coffee house thread was a good attempt in 2011, and then it stopped. So, I want to restart it.

Here is one of the several places you can chat about anything (assuming you follow BYC rules). I know there are already several of threads kind of like this, but I wanted a café to hang out in, and the one I saw I liked has been dormant for 4 years so here it is revived.
Hey Trib
Count me in for coffee well a beer at the moment.:pop. First let me say thank you for your service, I started in the Army but got hurt and washed out, after recovery became a firefighter here in Florida for 30 years mostly on an ALS rescue though I had my fair share of fires and other assorted hazards. I am now retired. 15 years.

I whish I had found this thread when I first posted, its listed under I have to vent. Showing my struggles to get through the application process for BYC permitting. Its now day three and am still waiting to hear back, maybe this Friday. I'm allowed 4 girls and a pen 100 square feet and coop will be my choice of 20 sqft. 4x5. I'm new to chickens and am learning a lot from BYC and folks on you tube.

The journey is fun looking forward to what will happen next.
Stay clucky. P.S. Good luck with the new baby.
