We've had a river run down into the garden and do some major erosion a few times. But our house is on a hill too, so it's safe. We're on a river and a creek, but neither have ever been close to the house.
I have many streams flowing across the property ATM. The big one that flows into the French drain when not frozen. It's going over the surface of the land and dumps into the ditch near the neighbors house.
One that skirts the front landscape arrangement and dumps into the ditch next to the driveway.
One that flows across my path to the coop that flooded my woodshed. It is currently hitting the gravellok pathway and flowing into it, then under the flagstone floor of the woodshed and the pitched trench underneath. That discharges to the other side of my driveway.
And there's the big one that flows over and out of the moat that reaches yet another ditch further up the hill from all the others. The moat still needs to be dug out again. It's full of silt.

My yard will flood but not my house. I'm on top of a hill.
Not on top of a hill, but my 3 sump pumps keep (hopefully) the house from flooding. My property pitches back to front on about a 30 degree angle - lots of runoff during heavy rain. Shallow ditch East to West diverts most of the runoff. It got really dry here late summer through autumn. On our way home I noticed that a neighbor's pond is overflowing for the first time since last spring.

Good morning everyone!

As temperatures were agreeable yesterday, I started the spring cleaning of the coops and aviary. The chickens were quite impressed and gave me 6 beautiful eggs in return, even my 6 yo BCM started again!

We are almost done with the trimming of the ancient overgrown blackthorn hedge, just a few more days of gathering and disposing of all the clipped stuff is left.

Today is full of sunshine and the dogs are eagerly awaiting a nice long walk.

@pennyJo1960 Very glad to hear that your DH is on the mend!

Don't let yourself get washed away by all that rain and stay safe everyone!

Last day of work for the week but it's been a really satisfying work week.
Those are great, aren't they?

I remember days when I felt like I really worked hard and did a very good job. Days when I learned something new to use going forward.

And then there are the days that aren't like that at all...:rant:gig
