Now that's something to celebrate!
Howdy! Early start on the day, getting horses together in one herd, supervising, yawning and leaving to go plant the fall garlic. Very boring, just how we like it.
Last night, however, was very exciting for DS$ who got to "ride" Woody and was very happy to be the first one up. I felt like I was leading a little kid on a very overgrown pony. Very boring ride, just how we like them. It froze last night here, ice on the chicken water. Squash and beans are gone. Tomatoes fine in their greenhouses.
Have a great day!
Good Morning Margie
Usually by now we've had a killing frost.... But not yet thank goodness.... I'm too sick to deal with that at the moment.
All fly spray I know of is sticky. That is a nice training setup, dowel rod and 2x4?
Good Morning WigglesGood morning everyone. Weather is typical UP weather, cold and rainy on Saturday, and now we are back to sunny and gorgeous. And for whatever reason, I am always extra busy at this time of the year. I made Danish this weekend, the dough is very labor intensive, but sooooo worth it. Today I need to plant some more mums and try to enjoy this beautiful weather....and maybe make some cookies! Have a great day everybody.
PS and I promise I will get the chocolate cake recipe up soon!![]()
Good Morning MargieWhy don't you just send your clone out my way and call it good? Your pictures make me hungry and I live too far away.......
Morning! Coffee and an imagined Danish please. Snow showers on Tues morning. I tell you what!.........grumble, grumble
Yep, cobbled together from stuff I had lying around. In the "it takes a lot of wet saddle blankets to make a good horse" vein, I figure the only way Syd is going to get comfortable between the shafts is for me to put her there as often as I can. This rig may not look elegant, but it works in a lot of ways - because the cart has 4 wheels, this puts no direct weight on her at any time, so all she has to deal with is pulling. Being low to the ground, it is quite stable, and visually less intimidating when she sees it following her. It squeaks, rattles, and bangs most gratifyingly, which should help with desensitizing her to noises. The shafts pivoting with her put less pressure on her than the ones that are fixed in position on the front of the pony cart, and if we break anything, it's easily replaced. It seems to be working - as you can see from the picture, Syd is comfortable enough with it to not only help with the hauling, she helps by mowing the lawn while I load and unload! (I joke, but I wouldn't step away from her like that if I wasn't absolutely sure she wouldn't go anywhere . . . I guess you could say this is doing a lot for my comfort level, as well). That is a nice training setup, dowel rod and 2x4?
