Good morning everyone! Scott, I don't know how you can be so chipper this early in the morning. DH made it to camp last night, I sent three pies with him and I guess the guys were waiting...!

. I made Three batches of Chex mix last night and will be working on some cookies tonight.

To me it's not that early, my day starts at 0500, and at least 3 cups of coffee before 0630.

Good Morning Kdog

Good morning! I went back to sleep till 845 lol though i didnt go right back asleep, stayed up till 630.

There was some sort of predator Sunday, i was gone and dog went crazy at like 4am apparently and wouldn't leave the door even after he stopped barking he sat there growlinf and the chickens were up and eating then. I don't shut the door anymore and they sleep on the roof most nights unless it's cold so they've been getting up at first light anyway but 4am is still dark. then last night they willingly went inside the coop. They are always on the roof and I have to put them in after dark. No matter how many times I do it, they are back on the roof the next night. So that one is really strange. So I figured I would listen to them and lock them in and just get up at 6 to let them out. Put cinder blocks in front of the gate too. They seem okay but I think they were either nervous or wanted to sleep in cause they took a few seconds to come out LOL

A predator encounter serves as a great incentive to retreat to the security of the coop. Keep on locking the coop in the evening.

Haha Scott, either they were too cold this morning or I've just gotten used to their crowing.
