I can't believe I get a day to sleep in, and my body refuses to cooperate. Oh well, nap later.
The pugs refuse to cooperate here. Sunday we take them home.

Good Morning WVC,

I think that I have been reading too many posts from D D at that time of the morning about the eating of Ice Cream.
Naps later are always a good thing!

Good Morning Sir Sour,

I take it that you had a nice and quiet day?
Coffee is on, late but it's ready now.
Scott
Yesterday was a good day, Scott. It would have been nicer if our son had called his mother, but it is what it is. Thanks for the coffee.

Hello, on our way home from PA. Haven't been on the phone much since the first day i made the mistake of looking at it at the very beginning of the ride and got car sick the whole rest of the ride and threw up two separate times lmfao

Anyway, we went to visit family for thanksgiving. My brothers haven't been here in years. My older one was here 4 years ago for a wedding after Thanksgiving, younger one had football and didn't come so hasnt been here in even longer.

So they both decided along with us that we need to come here for Thanksgiving this year.

We left on Tuesday around 4, took us 9 hours to get to Syracuse when it should have take like 6 LOL we had to pick my brother up in Boston at his frat so it took an hour to get in, an hour to ge tout, traffic, etc. Which is why it took so long. We got there at like 1am. The whole trip itself is only 9, 10 hours, is how long it took lol well, plus we stopped once or twice and like i said, i was car sick the whole time.

We got up and left at like 10 the next morning and we stopped 3 times in a 3-4 hour trip.... my brother had to stop to pee twice right after each other because he drank a liter of water....

Sooo.. loooongggg trip lol my mom driving goes much faster but with my dad and everyone everything takes forever.

ANYWAY, we went to Harborcreek, PA (near Erie) on Wednesday. We rented a nice manufactured home type thingy at this place a mile down the road, cottages on the lake but ours was the biggest and 3 beds, 2 bath so that was nice.

The whole entire family was there and we have a BIG family. There were like 24 people

Our family (5 people), Nana and Grandpa, uncle and aunt, other uncle and aunt and their 14 year old son, other aunt and uncle and their 3 adult kids and their 2 spouses (one isn't seeing anyone), the cousin's 4 kids, and 2 other people i forget how they are related. Oh and It was fun, the cousins are all like late 20s, early 30s, so the kids table was really the cool cousins table :p I'm 22, brothers 20 (21 next month), and older brother 25 or 26 i think. Only actual kids were their kids. One has a 5 year old, a 20 month old, and a 2 month old, the other has a 2 month old.

As you can imagine, the boys were running around like crazy both days LOL although actually on Thanksgiving they were pretty well behaved and calmer.

We also took a ridiculous amount of pictures lol

And last night a bunch of them came to our place after thanksgiving even though we hung out a while after there.

And today we went back to my grandparents and hung out for a bit then went to my one aunts lake cottage for lunch and my brother's have never seen it so wanted to. They also got to see the beach and huge creek.

Also stopped at the Indian Reservation on our way back out home.

Dropped my older brother off at the Buffalo airport. He is flying home because we aren't driving straight through and he has to be home a day earlier than us to pack.

He is off to Hawaii Monday morning.

All paid for. He is going on a training cruise. They go there for couple days I think, maybe less, do some classwork, learn about the ship, and come up with a plan for what they want to do when out there. Then they board and are at sea on a big research vessel somewhere between Hawaii and San Diego, California for 3 weeks. Awesome opportunity. I think there are like 20 other students in it. He got selected. I think it's who they think is gonna be a chief scientist. Students from all over and oddly enough the boat is from Alaska, University of Fairbanks.

He is a graduate student at MIT and works at WHOI (Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute) but he originally went to University of Massachusetts - Amherst and just got lucky/worked hard I guess ha he is a geologist and doing some pretty cool stuff. A couple years ago he went out on another research vessel and out to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

After this, he goes to the Indian Ocean in January for like a month.

Pretty cool.

He also went to Wyoming and California thia summer for something else, I think to visit another professor or university or something.

So ANYWAY. long story short, he had to be home earlier to pack.

We are driving further than we did the first day but still stopping.

We had to put the dog in the kennel too. We pick him up tomorrow afternoon. Dropped him off 8am Tuesday morning.

I think he will be humbled LOL

Oddly enough, my grandparent's kenneled their dog too but she is a pain in the *** terrier mix LOL she is ADORABLE, sweetest dog in the world, but barks and barks and plus with all the kids and everyone, it wouldn't be safe. She also hates other dogs and freaks on walks. They all say she's crazy even my "dog expert" uncle, he does know a lot, but personally I think she just needs consistent training and positive reinforcement along with balanced training, not just alpha or one type. She is very smart and i got her to sit and lie down in just a few minutes before.

But yoy know, they are 81 and my grandpa just gets frustrated and yells when she barks or jumps on people when they come in which makes her worse.

Plus she doesn't get enough exercise imo which is a big problem too imo. He walks her but he can't walk very far, maybe a mile a day.

But she loves to snuggle and watch tv with them.

Anyway, fun time.

Oh and I got on a tangent and forgot to mention it but it's cool because 2 of my cousin's, sisters, were both pregnant at the same time and had their babies like 11 or 18 hours or something apart. Jenny really wanted hers to have her own birthday and made it by like 33 minutes, had her around 11:30 at night lol i think September 17th then Kirstin had hers the 18th. So that is why they are the same age. And Jenny and Jake recently bought a house only a few miles from them so they got to see each other a lot and the kids get to grow up together.

Two gorgeous little girls.

Jenny's first kid and Kirstin's 3rd hut first girl

We live far away so only just got to meet them.

Well, Kelsey, it sounds as if you had a great Thanksgiving and created memories that you will have forever. Well done on the part of your family.

Sour, how old is your son? Mine is 31 and moved out after he graduated college. He is a major distance from me (job necessity)

He let me know that in 'so many' years, he has spent' so many 'hours on the phone with me, that he doesn't think he needs to continue. Whenever he wants my opinions(never takes it) he might call several times a day with more questions, etc. He might also call several days in a row and talk, talk, talk or rant. I asked if he planned to divorce me.? No reply.I have to ask how many hours he spent on the phone with his uncle in "so many," years. An empty nest is lonely enough but, phone silence too

. Oh he deletes his emails from me, though he can email me back and forth (I can't text - just have a land line) with a million questions and once he is satisfied - that's it., till he rattles my cage again.

Feel like my dating years, when the guy says he'll call and 20 years later I still am waiting.

Our son is 51. The Princess calls and speaks with him and his family every Sunday. Rarely does a call come in the other direction. Part of the problem I think is that they never had to 'do without' either emotionally or materialistically. Fact is that we all have a time warranty on life, and once we are gone, we are gone. They should realize that before it is too late. Daughter 'gets it' pretty much, but son not so much.
