'Morning all,

In contrast to you guys, we are in the depths of Winter here at the moment. Today we are forecasted to expect a maximum of 13 degrees celcius - that' 55F to you. It is raining, and foggy, and grey outside. I am inside, where it is warm and toasty thanks to our wood fire!

I do have to venture out today at some stage. I have a load of wood being delivered tomorrow and I need to get to an ATM to get some cash out to pay for it. There are also a few grocery items to pick up, which is not as arduous as it used to be - my 25 minute drive for groceries is now a 2 minute drive!

I have read back over the last couple of pages, and I am worried that brownies via the post, all the way to rainy Australia, might not make it here in one piece. Particularly if our dear 'Sour happens to know someone who works for the postal service, lol

We do have a good bakery in town here though, so perhaps I'll pop in this afternoon and see if I can't buy myself a little treat to lighten my day (and weigh down my body!) No time to bake myself today as I have a desk full of paperwork to address.

Speaking of that, I had better push on with my morning. A wonderful day to you all!

Yeah I've always been afraid customs guys would eat my goodies if I sent any down.

Howdy howdy y'all!! Did a job application online today...I miss the days where you could go in smiling sweetly and talk to a manager...now it's all soulless quizzes and tell us your life story (and high school story too...thanks Kmart that was only thirteen years ago...

I agree with you on the online app stuff. The old way was better than the faceless computer to computer stuff.

About a year ago I thought a job at a big box home improvement store might be worth checking into. Online application, online aptitude test, telephone call from an out of state personnel agency (she couldn't even pronounce the name of the town the store was in), then nothing. Then I kept getting emails from them to apply for the same job over and over. Sheesh.

Good luck with your job search.

I'm acclimatizing but still hot gets me too.

Ugh. It's just frustrating cause I have the feeling I may get the "overqualified" excuse.

I was a legal assistant for seven years before I moved down here...majority of that time spent in commercial and corporate stuff.

And here I am...going to be applying for minimum wage type jobs cause I've done the big long commute before. I could do it again, but not for what they pay down here. So I figure heck I'll apply at retail/feed store/etc type places in town where at least what I make won't all be going to gas and vehicle upkeep.

More frustrating cause hubs doesn't want me to get a job that I'd be working when he's home. Which fair enough, gotta get some couple time anyway but...

I'd love to be able to squirrel money away for a new place (cause he likes to spend his money on other things...) or for a cushion in case of, or or or...

He's kinda upset I put my foot down that we can't afford to go to big bear with his friends for the Independence Day weekend....but he blew our cushion on what will become "the toterhome" (right now it's a 93 international truck with a bad motor)...and I mean next paycheck has rent, cell/internet bills, insurance, I've got my driving test...

LOL!!, I only have 3 DD's and 0 DS's. I can feel your pain! I can only hope that they don't start cycling at the same time for you.
