BYC Café

We as well had a small church wedding his parents paid for everything bc i didnt have anyone to for me..i am very thankful i found him and his parents. We didn't have a Reception either just not enough money to beable to..i not much into big and fancy lol

I feel sad for your hen too, it's awful when you own kid(chick) rejects you. Poor hen needs counseling. Be a mother, that's the thanks you get!!
Empty nest syndrome, she needs a good fulfilling hobby.
We were on the river yesterday and it was beautiful. I turned to my husband and said,"We didn't do anything fun until we had our son, You aren't going to make me go back to Dulls-ville when he leaves are you?"

He said he was wrong in the past and he is a changed man. We shall see. (We need a squinty eyed suspicious emoticon.)

Prostar- Congrats!

I agree with you guys on putting the chick back with her, I tried twice before she went missing; once even at bedtime and he still ditched her. She was so over-protective and would not take him out of the coop or do anything except hang out in corners and then she freaks and runs away screaming when challenged by another hen, which, that part is getting worse to the point that I am wondering if there is something wrong with her. He is very happy in with the other chicks and plays and eats. She had a BO hen buddy before and didn't do this but she is just not calming down. Don't know

but I do know that having her jump into the area with the other broody and her new chicks would be disastrous.
We are supposed to have 5 whole days with no rain. My grass is now as tall as the snowdrifts!

Yet another reason not to fall off the path.... flash to " Stay out of the long grass! Not into the long grass!" Know it?

Eggie, Wow! Did you record that for posterity? And yes we do need a thingy on the "look."

@3goodeggs , you can use this one if you want

Glad you had fun yesterday.

Did you get rain down your way? We got over 2" late afternoon, really needed that!

No rain, we had thunder and lightning.

I got a little over heated on the river...maybe that is why it was so empty.
Lots of birds, and turtles and alligators. I saw more wood ducks yesterday than in my collective life time. Baby wood ducks and teenage wood ducks. Maybe the enviromental fines have finally made a difference.
It used to be down here, the fine was just the cost of getting away with whatever you wanted to do.

Sigh. Hubs is less than impressed with me working. It's stressing me out. I mean, good god it's be good to get out of the house and go work a job that yep could go to, do my job, come home it's done...

He's also a little concerned I'm selling myself short. Well maybe I am a bit...but come on. I've made mistakes, I'm not gods gift to lawyers as an assistant.

I put up that yay I got a job at Kmart on my Facebook...right away there was a bunch of oh well you should work at Costco instead.

Well, Kmart is hiring and is here in town. Five minutes trumps 20-30 minutes of driving.

Oh yeah. And i have to do a drug test. Pee in a cup...which honestly, I'm clean and I know it but the whole peeing in a cup thing causes me such anxiety...and the lack of hub's support of it just isn't helping...

I haven't officially accepted yet. I still don't know. Ugh.

Time out of the house, some change in your pocket, a chance to meet people and... everyone else can just get over it.
If it is a horrible fit, you can quit, but they won't want you to, and offer you something else. You have a foot in the door. That is more than a lot of people are willing to do.
Good for you, and the only part to worry about peeing in a cup is missing the cup.

Margie, Is your 'long grass' from an Irish folk saying stand point or the movie Jurassic Park? Both kinda mean the same thing in the long run.

Prostar, I think that you did good and can use the K-mart job as a starting point for better things, Hubby don't have to take any of the money if that is what is bothering him.
Scott

Oh but he will lol. He has so many projects on the go...

I think he's just ansty that now we'll have to work around my schedule too for escaping for things. Hmm. May have to quit before thanksgiving I know he'll be choked if I work Black Friday. (It's a standing tradition of going out to the desert for the thanksgiving long weekend) Oh well. Still something in the pocket. Let me get new runners without guilt...peach needs her annual vet checkup...(was waiting for my tax refund for that after hubs decided MUST HAVE TOTERHOME) and too I mean even if my money just gets squirreled into the "holy excrement" fund, for helping down payment on a mortgage...may not be much but it'll be something.
