We are having our BBQ today, because hubby works tomorrow.
It is fine, a celebration is a celebration, and the day it is celebrated on does not matter to us.
Kinda house sitting for the MiL this week. Well, her eldest daughter moved back home so it's been more I'll do feedings if she can't make it due to work.
So it's only been two days this week...Wednesday night and this evening. Wednesday go over, there's two squirrels in their trap - one dead. I have no idea where mil keeps her non firearms (or actual firearms) so I try to get hubs to come over with our pellet gun after he comes home from work. Ended up being a late one so I say okay sis in law, Jesse says you guys have a pellet gun here you or your man can take care of business and if you can't let me know I'll pop over tomorrow. Okay she says she'll check with mil. I went over for evening feeding tonight.
Two dead and rotting squirrels in the trap.
Well at this point they're both dead so I feed the chickens, feed the horses, check on the dogs, come back to the chicken area and take the squirrel trap and the rather smelly things, shake em out into the trash. Which was also rather disgustingly smelly. Put the trap back, left the top part open. Nuts to that i dont want to deal with that again and I know if mil comes back and finds decomposing squirrel carcasses in the trap she'll be none too pleased either. (I mean, what a crap way to go stuck in a squirrel trap no food no water til you die)
Not sure if there is one. SiL hasn't said what her work schedule will be. I'll send her another text tomorrow.
It's a tricky spot. She's...goodness how old is she now? 22? 23? Somewhere around there...MiL is worried about her minding the place but...she's a big kid. She doesn't need nor would she appreciate me hovering and double checking.
(Yeah for being a SiL I don't know her very well either. Things have always been kinda strained between hubs and his mom...so while there were occasional family gatherings they were few and far between...and she moved out and a bit away a while back so...yeah)
Some of my girls were being sassy when I went to take out their chow. (I put it in a truck tool box so it doesn't attract nocturnal rodents into the coop)
...and there's a screenshot of the recipe for a really tasty chicken marinade.

Lovely pics of your girls. There is nothing worse than a rotting rodent. My cat brought in a rat and we could not find it, but there was a definite whiff of something nasty in my house I hunted high and low sniffing everywhere Eventually found it behind the books in my book case. It took days to get rid of the smell.
