BYC Café

The rooster was hunkered down in the brooder house, plenty of straw there. So I gave him some cat food and water. I will have to go out again, that water will freeze fairly quick, I will throw him a little feed. The cats have claimed the garage :hmm I do not really want them in there, but probably won't kick them out. It is just to cold

I've never driven but, my father, brother, sister, niece & son have had Toyotas - even the cheaper models have been excellent. They hold up well too. Now my brother & son are on the waiting list for a Tesla 3, I think they call it. Could take years

Cars do that when they get old. Even if you fix them yourself, they are not reliable and I hate being stranded or fixing a broken axle in the mud on the side of a highway...Yes I have done that!

never had one break was fortunate in that

How do you fix that?
I had to get a new axle from a wrecking yard for the car. I then had a bearing pressed on at a machine shop. I had my brother drive me to the car and we jacked it up on boards. There is a clip at the rear end gear box that you have to remove and then slide the old axle out and the new axle in. It was not fun on the side of the highway!

That is it in a nutshell. It was a long time ago and it was an old rear wheel drive mazda.

Our stove is doing a good job keeping us warm. I fed it at 2 am so it has been running continuously.

Wow, lucky you could find the parts you needed!
I like older cars. You might have to replace things once in a while but better than a monthly payment.

My first car was a Toyota, you couldn't kill it. Loved that car. Later i bought a Toyota wagon and it was terrific. Had to learn to drive a stick but just loved it as well. Quite roomy!
I remember trying to teach my oldest daughter to drive a stick shift. Lol. Once she got going she could go through the rest of the gears just fine. She never could get the smooth take off. After a few months she finally just traded for an automatic shift.
