BYC Café

Got the propane filled up last night, so didn't have a freezing morning today which was very nice.
But my hair legitimately froze when I went out this morning lol

!
Some fell out of my hat and was too close to my face. I guess my breath turned it into icicles (it looked like superhero hair or something), melted as soon as I walked inside but was soaking wet :p
Got to love this weather!

Got a heated dog bowl for the chickens, but they don't seem to want to use it *sigh*. I'll have to see what I can do to encourage use. Egg froze and cracked yesterday

, so I'll have to check more frequently today....though I'm pretty much only getting one egg a day now anyway!

Morning! Right at about freezing here but windy. They are actually predicting 70 mph gusts for tomorrow and they call it "very windy." My guess is that if they say 70, we are going to get 90mph. We will just see... I will pregrind the coffee in case we lose power. Have a great day!
Oh, here we go.... the key word is excess...
"midnight tonight when gusts in excess of 75 mph will be possible."

I've never driven but, my father, brother, sister, niece & son have had Toyotas - even the cheaper models have been excellent. They hold up well too. Now my brother & son are on the waiting list for a Tesla 3, I think they call it. Could take years
My first car was a Toyota, you couldn't kill it. Loved that car. Later i bought a Toyota wagon and it was terrific. Had to learn to drive a stick but just loved it as well. Quite roomy!

-29 today. View attachment 1220125 it made it up to -20 yesterday. It was so much easier to tend to the animals. Supposedly we're about to get another arctic blast. I found some wood that is actually giving off some heat.
Glad you're staying warm Tree.
My Chevy Colorado broke down 2 years ago. The place I took it for repairs said "it's bad". Since it was 10 years old we figured we better go vehicle shopping. Settled on a GMC Sierra. The "work" model was ideal... no bells and whistles and no carpeting so it was ideal for hauling. Then the sales guy asked where I worked. Turns out that GM has deals with numerous companies... got the truck for dealer cost + $1000. Saved $12K just for working @ Home Depot.
It turns out that the Colorado was a minor fix. So now we each have a vehicle. :)
I have a Sierra too!
