Have you ever been checked for attention deficeit disorder? I know I spelled it w rong but, it's the thought that count.
I don't think I've ever been formally tested but my mom thought i did and also we went to a neurologist a few times and he thought i did and gave me meds so after the first visit was just refills ha but i swear he would've given them to anyone lol barely even a talk and no tests. It worked alright but after we upped the dose it just caused anxiety so I stopped taking it. Did go to an ADD specialist in PA and didnthe computer test thing and was supposed to come back though we never did. But he didn't seem to think i had it. He said my brain was just slow to get moving, i forget exactly what he said. But i kinda believe it because once i get started, i can work for hours. I don't usually get super distracted like most do. But it's the getting started that's impossible. But then on places like here and even with my story telling, i jump around and stuff so maybe I am. Idk. I and my mom kinda thought i might have a touch of aspergers or something. And i know i have OCD so i do wonder if it's more OCD cause sometimes i have to include the details and always tell like the whole story, honest, etc, idk.
My Youngest DD started her second semester yesterday too. She ha a class that goes until 10pm
Oh wow i am a night owl but would hate that lol last semester i had a 6 to 9 one
I've been thinking for a while now about being tested for that.
Any idea what the treatment is?
Drugs.
Yeah, usually drugs
Poop
7.9 in the gulf of Alaska near Kodiak
Wow scary
It can be managed without; my best friend growing up was on medication but I believe she's not taking anything any more.
If it's not particularly obvious, then there are probably various techniques to help you out without taking drugs.
If you've ever known someone with ADHD you would have a good idea of what this type of diagnosis looks like. It has definitely been over-diagnosed in the past few decades, but with someone who is truly suffering it affects every aspect of their life.
Growing up with her was a bit of a challenge, but I was a good compliment to her personality - well I tried anyway![]()
Yes too many kids were just put on drugs because they were acting like kids and it was easier. They tried hard to put my youngest brother on meds, but eventually they figured out he did not have adhd, he had some other letters jumbled together that basically meant he was a daydreamer....i swear there is a diagnosis for everything. I probably had it too, they just yelled at me to get my head out of the clouds.
I remember when my older sister brought home a note from the teacher. She said my sister looked out the window too much. Duh!
My teacher complained that I had to use the restroom too often. My doctor had to send a note so I was allowed to "go" when I needed to. Teachers were really cranky way back then.
ever since the big quake of '64 everything up here has been built very well. So usually the only issue is if your well shifts. Which of course is horrid... but not life threatening.
Tsunamis are bad though... but my house is at 1,300 feet.
doesn't need to mean that
yep... at this point there are lots of helpful things out there. .. some great management helps etc.
Agree with everything. Sadly way overdiagnosed. School is just BORING. Of course kids don't want to listen lol
