Congratulations on the grandson! When does he hatch?

Sept 9th for the GS and hopefully April 15 for the chicks. Too bad I wont be able to count any of them as deductions

I just tried my first hatch too... 0 out of 15. Got 3 dozen waiting to go in.

Yes Summer in Texas no less. So by September it will probably still be in the 90's

Windy here this afternoon, too. Can't complain because this morning I was working in the yard cleaning out the irises wearing a tank top. So nice to get some sunshine on my skin!

Thinking about moving the babies out to the grow-out box in the coop - but not sure the warm weather will hold.

I think the temp was way too low. Got a new thermometer for the next batch. Still not the best, but it's a little better than the mercury one I was using.

I worked outside today too. Wearing lonjohns under my jeans, a t shirt and sweatshirt under a heavy jacket.
