I think the temp was way too low. Got a new thermometer for the next batch. Still not the best, but it's a little better than the mercury one I was using.
You know I am going to keep posting until you get a good one!

Temperature is the number one thing that makes a good hatch.

It has to read in tenths
It has to have a fast time of sensing temperature change
It has to have a very tight accuracy:

reads to 0.1ºF with an accuracy of ± 0.2ºF

It only costs $25.00! http://www.brinsea.com/p-394-spot-check-digital-incubator-thermometer.aspx

Get it..Get it....Get it....get it....

I wish i saw this before i ordered the one i sent for today!

not sure it was you but a year before or is two I picked up one to go with the hovabator
It was probably me. There was a memeber on the old folks home years ago that would not get one. He swore that his incubator had to be fine because a bunch of thermometers from walmart verified the temp. He bought a spot check and found that he had been incubating two degrees too low.

He switched to a genesis 1588 and used the spot check to make sure it was reading correctly and started having good hatches.

I bought maybe a dozen of the Walmart temp/humidity thingies, and no two of them ever had the same temp. Humidity differed quite a bit too but, I was using them to monitor my plants. So likely some plants stands were closer to heat vents, and plants themselves crowded where humidity was highest.
